Unfortunately we still have a few injury concerns and this will mean a new look team for the match v OZSC. As everyone has heard via the bush telegraph, our star winger Rinaz has been contracted to the University of Wales to play Rugby and further his studies so he will be missed for the rest of the season. The team wishes Rinaz every success and will be following his progress overseas and the club will be ensuring that upon returning to Sri Lanka he re-signs with CR & FC.
OZSC have a forward pack that will disrupt even the best scrums and if they are given the chance they will do exactly that. Unfortunately their defence is poor and we will look to capitalize on that and we have set ourselves a goal to reach a high points level against them to enable CR to reclaim some of the bonus points awarded to Kandy for high points scoring in earlier matches.
We will be taking to the field with a team that will be fit and fast to counter the poor backs will have 4 of our reserves as reserve backs. There may be some experimentation later in the match if we have a comfortable buffer. CR should set a solid platform up front and will be looking to tidy up the Lineout where we have been good but there is room for improvement. The team will be looking to play controlled rugby and maintain the bulk of possession whilst having the patience and ensuring no penalties are conceded.
Our defence will again be a feature of our game and the team as mentioned earlier, the team has reset the goal posts and will be concentrating on keeping our defensive record in tact and not concede any tries v OZSC and Air Force. The teams is looking forward to the continued support from club members and hope to put on a display to entertain the fans on Sunday
The B's had a great win on Saturday v Puffins and there were a couple of great games especially from Mr. Fixit Chandreen Ranasinghe who packed in at the Lock position for this game after playing Prop and flanker in previous weeks. Charith and Roshan Peiris also played well and both were responsible for setting up several tries. Fullback Anushka Perera and Backrow Imesh Wijewardena also performed well.
