Rib Bruisers

We had some rib bruisers in our opening games in the 2nd round. The Police Team was soundly beaten by 58-3 points. Now, what happened to that team that ruined our hopes from taking the top spot in the league? Army, that’s another story. We played good rugby, even though the game was marred by a lot of fisticuffs and unruly spectator behavior. Whilst our boys showed that they would not be pushed around physically, we too need to watch our actions as well. To a lot of CR “Die Hards” who complained to me, our game seemed disjointed. I have to tell you, its not easy, playing out at the Army grounds, and sometimes, people do have bad games. In the end, beating Army by 37-9 on their grounds is more than a creditable achievement. It is a great achievement. I hope all the good WORK is not in vain.

The remaining matches are:

  • CH & FC at Maitland Crescent, July 24th.
  • Havelocks at Havelock Park, August 1st.
  • Kandy at Longdon Place, August 8th.

The Knock Outs commence on August 13th, with the semi finals being played on August 18th and 19th and the final on August 22nd, 2004. We will not know who is in, until the league tournament is over.

The CR Bees were unbeaten, and ended up beating Army in their last match by over 25 points. This too was a great win as we played yet again at the Army grounds.
